ok... first of all shout out AUDREY from memento mori recordings (support her label here) for putting me on cause OMG is his music great. Wicca Phase Springs Eternal is one of those insanely influencial online rappers, best known for his influence on emo rap as a whole and being apart of gothboiclique
(note: I will most likely be trying to listen to his music chronologically, but more than likely will be spiratic on the order of releases)
#feb13 is one of wicca phase's earliest full album releases and I'd say it's up there in terms of experimentation. Lots of it sounds like this kind of hypnagogic soundscape that cloud rap was experimenting with at the time. The beats on here have a good amount of synthpop-ish influence, and (somehwat) flunctuate in terms of how the beats sound, kinda bouncing around from darker sounding beats vs. more upbeat instrumentals (tho still matching w the vibe of the other ones if that makes sense). Though most of it mixes well, HARSH WEBCAM stands out in the worst way with the higher pitch vocals- not bad enough to skip, but kind of a chore to listen to
7/10 - worth your time
